The Capitals have re-signed Tomas Kundratek to a two-year extension, locking up the Czech Republic native through 2014-15.
The first year of the deal, 2013-14, is one-way and will pay Kundratek $550,000, but will turn into a two-way deal come 2014-15 that pays him $550,000 in the NHL, and $150,000 in the AHL. Last year with the Hershey Bears, Kundratek registered 16 goals and 15 assists. Due in part to injuries to Capitals regulars, Kundratek also appeared in 25 games for the Capitals last season, and had one goal and six assists.
Kundratek, 23, has played 181 career AHL games and provided a good amount of offense from the backend scoring 30 goals and 38 assists over his time in the A.
